NSW State Titles and Bananacoast Championships
The New South Wales 4 Gun Championship, incorporating the Bananacoast Championship, was held at the SSAA range in Coffs Harbour. As always, the event was run smoothly and had a really good atmosphere. The rain managed to stay away, but it was still pretty wet underfoot and more than a little chilly — classic Coffs in August!
We kicked off on Thursday with the Experimental class, where Les Fraser was on fire all day, taking the win with a .2772 Grand Agg. Not only that, Les set two new records — a 100-yard record of .2054 (beating the old mark of .2098) and a 200-yard group record of .275. Outstanding shooting, Les! Paul Sullivan shot strongly to take second, with Will Greer rounding out the podium in third.

The Sporter class saw Mitchell Tallar take top honours with a .2617 Agg, followed by Ray Beavis in second and Paul Sullivan again in the mix for third.
In Light Benchrest, it was Sonia Frost who came out on top with an impressive .2329 Agg. Paul Sullivan kept his consistency going with another second place, and Gary Hunt secured third.

The Heavy Benchrest title went to Paul Sullivan, who posted a tidy .2147 Agg to get the win. John Babic shot well for second, and Mitchell Tallar rounded out the top three.

When it came to the overall results, Paul Sullivan put together some strong performances to take out both the Two Gun and Fours Guns.

All in all, it was another fantastic shoot at Coffs — great competition, great people, and plenty of memorable moments. A huge thank you must go to the Coffs Harbour SSAA crew and all the volunteers who put in the effort behind the scenes. The range was in great shape, everything ran smoothly, and it’s that hard work that makes these events so enjoyable for everyone.
