Hi Australian Benchrest competitors, I would like to float an idea of how to increase our competitor base. Speaking with our closest competitor in NZ it has been expressed the difficulty in brining rifles into Australia. Any competitors who have spare rifles could they make them available to our fellow shooteres.
If there interest in helping we would gain interest from NZ competitors who can come over use a rifle at our matches, they would pay for all components etc and bring their own necessary items.
This of course would be returned to Australian Competitors who want to compete in NZ competitions.
Growing the formula one of accuracy is difficult we have to start thinking outside the box.
Build relationships with our neighbours, get more competitors into our shoots here in Australia. I know in 2013 for the WBC in Silverdale I loaned several rifles to the Sweedish team no problem and they got have a great WBC.
Closing our sport off by not developing ideas will not encourage new competitors.
Please let me know your thoughts.
good shooting to all Les
