Good evening Benchrest Community - As part of the ongoing initiatives in developing Benchrest competition I have asked Lauren Thompson to assist in the development of young competitors within our sport.

Recently at the IRB Nationals in Majura Act 2026 a Junior competitor was extremely happy to receive his junior award and prize. Youth in our sport needs exploration and guidance with requests for assistance to get to national matches.

SSAA has a Junior program with a circuit of matches however Benchrest at this stage isn't one of them.

With this in mind to drive positive change in this area requires a high functioning person who is dynamic and driven enabling youth exposure to our discipline. Lauren will be able to assist with questions young competitors may have and provide advice to parents who may wish to investigate this discipline and what it has to offer.

We have the ability in this discipline to provide opportunity to represent this country in the Green and Gold on two platforms Centre Benchrest and International Rimfire Benchrest, disciplines always benefit from gaining new competitors of all ages.

Good shooting to all
