I noticed an earlier post regarding folks with hunting rifles wishing to compete.

I spoke to one of the organisers and I am happy to supply a trophy for the best hunting rifle

aggregate over the 2 days. Cheers

Hi All,

A factory class is something that could be considered, this will need to be discussed. There is the age-old question of how is this policed? The very nature of the competition is inviting all levels of shooters to the event. As it stands there will be trophies for 1st second and third in the 2-day aggregate, provided there is enough entries there will also be prizes given out at random.

So, I guess the question is, how do we police a factory class? And what are the requirements?

I do agree that this particular class does create a situation where those people willing to do the wrong thing come out of the woodwork just to win a Trophy or a Prize.
I suppose anyone wishing to enter into the hunting / factory class would need to have their gun briefly inspected to assess it is in fact a hunting rifle.
I do recall a while back a particular individual argued the point that he had a factory built PPC and that they should be able to enter into a factory class.
He was politely told to not bother attending and to reassess his interpretation of fair competition.
This Particularly shoot will have a lot of emphasis based on trust and good sportsmanship due to fact we are not using “moving backers” and I hope everyone who attends has the right attitude coming in.
Maybe an option would be to allow all the shooters entering into that class scrutinised their own rifles amongst themselves and determine their own set of criteria during or prior to the match.
If folks want a hunting/factory class then let them come up with their set of rules.
If it happens I am happy to provide a trophy. Cheers

The whole point of this shoot is to bring people together from various disciplines and shooting interests with no restrictions on guns apart from no rail guns or calibers larger then 8mm allowed. Do your best with what you got and see how you go. Come and join in he fun and get some tips from the experienced shooters of various disciplines.

We're expecting a good mix of shooters and so far there has been a fair bit of interest.

Hope to see many of you there.
